Secondary 1 – English: Delivering a Speech
Secondary 1 students recently demonstrated their public speaking abilities through a classroom speech activity. As part of the learning process, students were introduced to various techniques for delivering an engaging and effective speech.
During the preparation stage, students learned important elements of delivering a speech such as effective reading strategies, the use of gestures, and maintaining eye contact with the audience. They were also given time to practice their speeches and memorize the key points to ensure a smoother delivery.
On the presentation day, each student delivered their speech in front of their classmates. Although some students initially felt nervous, the activity encouraged them to face their fears and gradually become more confident speakers.
Through this experience, students not only practiced expressing their ideas clearly but also developed important communication skills that are essential in today’s world. The activity proved to be a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence while improving their public speaking abilities.
