Secondary 1 : Classifying Parts of Speech
S1 students learned parts of speech: nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs. One of the learning objectives was for the students to identify the word category. Hence, after discussing each word category, the students were given different words to group based on their classification (Noun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb). The words were stuck on the board for students to pick and put in the correct group. The students also learned abstract nouns such as patience, confidence, presence, etc. Furthermore, they knew the difference between similar words, such as perseverance and perseverant (including the use of the words in the sentences). The ability to classify word classes will help students form correct sentences. ***
