Secondary 1 – Biology: Plant’s Observation

Secondary 1 students learned about the classification of the Plantae Kingdom. Classification means separating things based on their differences and similarities so that we can easily find or name them. As part of this topic, students learned to classify plants based on their characteristics through observation. Students were asked to observe several plants in the garden based on the similarities and differences of the root, stem, and leaf types.

They then had to classify the plants as monocots or dicots. The students were happy and enthusiastic about this activity. It is one of the strategies for them to have a meaningful experience when learning about plants. Well done children. ***
