Primary – Preparation Class: Let’s Learn and Explore

Our Preparation Class program welcomes kindergarten students from various schools into a fun, supportive, and meaningful learning environment in the Austria Room. Running from 19 May to 5 June 2025, this special program is designed to introduce young learners to school routines and the FIS environment—helping them feel confident and excited about starting Primary 1.

During the first week, students were introduced to important daily routines such as lining up, praying, and greeting others. They also explored the school through a guided tour, visiting classrooms, the multifunction court, computer lab, library, and other key facilities. Academic readiness is gently introduced through basic reading and writing activities, while daily thematic learning keeps curiosity alive. Students also learned valuable life skills like independence during mealtime and quiet focus during reading time.

Excitement filled the room as students engaged in each activity, building friendships, following instructions, and becoming familiar with what it means to be part of the school community. This early exposure provides them with a strong foundation as they prepare to officially join Primary 1 in the upcoming academic year.

Beyond supporting student transition, this program also offers valuable insight for teachers to better prepare for each child’s needs. Most importantly, it gives both students and teachers the opportunity to build early connections, easing the adaptation process ahead. Let’s keep the excitement going, Kiddos—school is just beginning, and there’s so much more to discover! ***
