Primary: Pelita Nusantara Bandung Visitation
On Wednesday, 5 February 2025, P6 students of Pelita Nusantara Bandung visited Primary FIS to have learning experiences together. The event was opened by a singing excurr performance from FIS Primary students then continued by Pelita Nusantara students’ performance. Hereafter, students had a chance to have a school tour to know more about FIS classrooms and its facilities; such as computer lab, library, health centre, and many more. Character Building was becoming the next activity to capture the students’ collaboration and communication. In the end of the session, the event was closed by another performance and taking picture together.
On the performance, students performed very well with a big smile on their face. They enjoyed the moment when they were singing and dancing as well as introducing the culture from Bandung and Solo during the performance. On the school tour, Primary FIS P6 students guided Pelita Nusantara students to move around Primary building. They visited each classroom and greeted other students warmly. While in Character Building session, students were asked to solve challenges in groups. They need to set the best strategy to win the challenges given.
From the event, students were feeling happy to know each other. They were also excited to have fun and meaningful learning experience in each activity conducted. Students could recognize the environment in Primary as well as its daily routines by having the school tour. They also learned to manage their communication skill in deciding the best strategy to solve challenges when they were having group activities.
During this activity, the students also learned how to interact with foreigners politely. They also learned how to collaborate and be respectful in accepting others’ ideas during the discussion. Overall, students showed their enthusiasm to support each other in dealing with the group’s activities.
This valuable experience can be the good lesson for them to be easily build good interaction with other people someday. Furthermore, it is also beneficial to raise students’ awareness about the importance of having collaboration with others in daily life.
