Primary 6 – Science : More About Electricity
In Science class, P6 students learned the “More about Electricity” chapter. In this chapter, students learned that an electrical conductor is a material that allows electric current to flow through it quickly. On the contrary, an electrical insulator is a material that does not allow an electric current to flow through it quickly. In learning this material, the students experimented to determine whether a material is a conductor or an insulator.
The students would determine whether a material is an electrical conductor or insulator using a circuit tester. First, the students tried to make a circuit tester by arranging electrical components, such as batteries, battery cases, crocodile clips, and bulbs. Second, the students would place material in the circuit tester using crocodile clips. In this experiment, the materials used were objects in our surroundings that could be found easily in our daily life, such as paper clips, rubber bands, coins, etc. At the end of the activities, the students would record their findings in their Activity Books. ***
