Primary 6 – IPC: P6 Students Do The Art Printing

P6 students learn about impressions and how they can be shared through artwork. One of them is Japanese traditional art printing named Ukiyo-e. Students got to know the history of Ukiyo-e and how Japanese artists were able to share their impressions of their surroundings. From these changes, the teacher invited students to observe their surroundings and share them through art printing.

At first, the student chose one meaningful object and then sketched it on paper. They replicated it on the soft lino and pressed the outline down with a pencil. This technique is crucial for creating a deep surface.

Next, the student tried to apply acrylic paint to it and a sheet of paper. They should rub the paper gently until the paint is printed on it. At last, a student pulled it out to get the result. The artwork could be printed successfully though some are unclear. In the end, they evaluated what needed to be improved and also gave appreciation to their artwork. ***
