Primary 6 – English: Star of The Stage – Role Play Project
P6 students have learnt about playscript in Unit 7. They learnt about the features of playscript and the use of brackets and ellipsis to create some effects in dialogue. As a celebration of their learning, they had a role play project entitled Star of The Stage. P6 students were divided into several groups.
The first step of this project was choosing their favourite book in the library. Then, each student made a playscript from the book they had chosen. After that, they discussed in group to determine the playscript that would be used. Students were given time to practice and also made props and costumes. On D-Day they performed their role play in front of their friends. Not only that, they were also invited to have self-evaluation and provide evaluations for their friends’ performance by writing feedback.
By having this project, P6 students applied the knowledge they had gained. They also learned how to be cooperate and responsible. They also practiced to improve their creativity. When doing this project, P6 students looked very enthusiastic.
Through this project, it can give impact on improving students’ self-quality such as confidence, planning and team work. Students can learn to appreciate their process. Students can also activate open-mindedness by collecting feedback given by others. In the future, P6 students will not only be good at academics, but also have good control on emotional, social and practical intelligence.
