Primary 3 – Science: Light and Shadows

Can the size of shadows change even when they are cast by the same object? To answer this question, students carried out a scientific investigation. Students placed a tennis-sized ball 5 centimeters away from the light source which is a flashlight. They used a ruler to measure the height of the shadow and recorded it in the table. Then, students increased the distance between the flashlight and the object. They measured the height of the shadow which became shorter when the object was placed further away from the light source. Students looked excited about doing this experiment. ***
