Primary 3 – English: Poem about Indonesian Culture
These past few weeks, P3 students talked about poems from different cultures. They learned more about rhyme and rhythm, as well as the figurative languages which are alliteration and onomatopoeia. As the project, they made their poem about Indonesia to be performed in front of their friends. Students were very creative; they came up with various ideas. Most of them explore Indonesian food and beverages, like soto, rendang, bakso, wedang ronde, jenang gendol, ayam geprek and many more. Some of them also raised the topic of Batik as an Indonesian heritage. On Monday, September 23rd, they performed their poems. P3 students looked enthusiastic, excited, and confident when they read their poems. Hopefully, they can learn about poems and appreciate their own culture. ***
