Primary 2 – SLC: A Celebration of Learning Journey
Primary 2 students recently conducted their Student-Led Conference, presenting their academic progress to their parents. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to showcase their learning and for parents to gain direct insight about their children’s achievements. Classrooms were transformed into presentation spaces, where students displayed their work.
The students shared how they did in one subject they chose, demonstrating their understanding of key concepts. They explained various learning experience throughout the term for the rest of the available time. They also effectively presented their journey by explaining the learning process.
A heartwarming activity concluded the conferences. Parents wrote motivational messages to their children, emphasizing their strengths and offering encouragement. This served as constructive feedback. SLC allowed teachers to observe improvement in students’ communication skills and solid understanding of their academic progress. On the other hand, parents also received direct information about their children’s learning and progress to later provide support for them.
The SLC were successful leaving a very rich experience for all. Students were more involved in their learning, while at the same time, parents and children connected better. Parents appreciated their children’s learning directly. Teachers will follow up the students’ progress for the rest of the year enabling the student to develop more and more.
