Primary 2 – Maths: Place Value
Primary 2 students were so engaged in a hands-on learning experience learning about the place value. Starting with a prompt to recall the importance of tens and ones in numbers, the students received a clear explanation of the value of each digit in different numbers.
Following this, students got some sets of buttons and paper in which each set had a random value with larger ones representing tens and smaller ones representing ones. They were asked to place the buttons on the paper to create two-digit numbers to strengthen their understanding of the topic discussed. Students honed their ability to determine digit values by connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application in an engaging way. ***
