Primary 2 – LeaPro: Happy Teeth Happy Me (Day 1)

Primary 2 students kicked off their “Happy Teeth, Happy Me” learning project with an exciting start in the Look, Listen, and Learn and Ask Tons of Questions phases. The students were trying to connect and extend what they had learned previously in the sharing session with the invited dentist.

The big idea behind this project is to provide P2 students with an authentic and meaningful opportunity to build their confidence in speaking English. By sharing their knowledge about how to take care of their teeth with EYP students, they will confirm what they’ve learned about teeth care while improving their communication skills and making speaking English a daily habit.

They began by recalling the lessons from that recent dentist event, discussing why and how we take care of our teeth. Next, they watched a role play comparing a confident and unconfident teacher, leading to a discussion about how speaking clearly and confidently makes sharing knowledge more effective.

With this in mind, they worked together to create questions for EY2 students, such as when to brush teeth and why toothcare matters. These activities helped them see how preparation builds confidence and how clear communication can make learning fun and engaging.

The students also reflected on their readiness, identifying ways to improve before meeting the EY2 students. In the future, students can recall this experience to always make sure that preparation is done before taking action. This experience has boosted their enthusiasm and confidence, preparing them for a meaningful and successful interaction with EY2 students. ***
