Primary 1 – Reading Program: Let’s Present Our Pop-up Card to Other Friends!

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Primary 1 students proudly showed their creativity and reading progress in a presentation activity. This activity was part of the reading stimulation in Reading Program Phase 1. Previously, the students chose storybooks that they like which based on the criteria. After reading, they exchanged books with their friends during enrichment time. This allowed them to read more stories and learn from each other.

In the third and fourth meetings, students made pop-up cards with one character from the story. They also wrote a short reason for choosing the book. With help from their classroom teachers, they practiced how to present clearly and confidently.

In the fifth meeting, students presented their pop-up cards to other students in Primary 3, Primary 4, and Primary 6 who also enjoy reading and have more experience in Reading Program. Primary 1 students needed to remember details, explain their choices, and organize their ideas before the presented. They spoke in front of audience and received direct feedback.

The most meaningful part was the feedback exchange. Primary 1 students got useful comments from other students, which helped them improve their presentation skills. This activity trained them to be brave and confident when speaking. In the long run, it will help them express themselves better in school and beyond. This activity combined reading, creativity, and presentation practice. Step by step, students are learning not only to read but also to speak with confidence and courage. ***
