Primary 1 – Learning Project Day 5: Creating Prototype

Within two days (December 10th – 11th), 2024, Primary 1 students made a prototype of emotions. There were 4 kinds of emotions, which were happy, sad, worried and angry.

First, teacher asked students to shop the materials that they needed wisely based on the data that they got from the previous phase. They chose the materials of fabrics, plastic, papers and so on.

In this activity, Primary 1 students were challenged to create their own prototype based on the data that they got from the interview, storytelling and social experiment video. They chose any media that they made from sharing session. One of them that they chose the most is mascot.

Moreover, through this activity, Primary 1 students are able to experience making prototype based on the data that they got from previous phases. Students showed their innovation and creativity as well. They shared and asked each other to make their prototype as good as they could.

By creating prototype, students can practice and gain data about their understanding towards how to recognize materials and how to regulate emotions. Besides, through this activity, P1 students can express their feelings and how to regulate them.

This activity also stimulates students’ critical thinking and problem solving. It may show real impact to students by encouraging students to think and create something. But, later on they will be able to show their creativity and innovation to the real world. ***
