Primary 1 – Learning Program DAY 7: LAUNCH IT!
On Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, Primary 1 students proudly presented the culmination of their learning journey through the “Primary 1 Emotions Exhibition.” This interactive event invited all school levels, teachers, and the S-Team to experience an engaging exploration of emotions and their regulation.
The exhibition featured a campaign centered on four key emotions—happiness, sadness, anger, and worry—and strategies for managing them. Using mascots they had designed and created, students showcased symbolic representations of these emotions, making the concepts more relatable and visually engaging. The mascots served as tools to capture attention and foster awareness among the audience about recognizing and managing their own emotions.
Students shared their knowledge by explaining the importance of emotional regulation and narrating their creative process. They described the journey from designing and selecting materials to crafting and refining their prototypes, highlighting their learning and problem-solving skills throughout the project.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore the exhibits, view the students’ work, and engage in meaningful discussions by asking questions related to the theme. To conclude the experience, guests were invited to write love letters expressing their reflections, experiences, or messages about the “Emotions Exhibition.” These messages were displayed as a collective celebration of the students’ efforts and insights.
This activity provided students with a dual role as learners and educators. They deepened their understanding of emotional regulation while teaching others how to identify, express, and manage feelings effectively. By engaging in this creative and educational event, students developed critical skills such as self-awareness, empathy, and communication.
Through the exhibition, Primary 1 students not only recognized their own emotions but also learned to respond appropriately and guide others toward effective emotional management. These foundational skills contribute to building resilience, fostering healthier relationships, and promoting overall well-being. The Emotions Exhibition was a testament to how meaningful learning experiences can empower students to create a positive impact in their communities. ***
