
Nursery – English and Motoric: L-Fest Week, Exploration to Warna Warni Indonesia
To trigger the love to our country, Indonesia, nursery students started to join the L-Fest Week: Warna Warni Indonesia. All through the week, students were introduced to Indonesian beauty of diversity encompassing introduction to traditional songs and clothes, also the landscapes.
To begin with, the students were introduced to the closest culture to their daily life, the Javanese culture. Students were enthusiastic in learning Javanese culture such as singing traditional song Padhang Bulan and playing the old time favorite game, Cublak Cublak Suweng.
As the continuation, to introduce places and culture of Indonesia especially Bali, NTT, and Sulawesi, students were taken to embrace their imagination as well as develop gross motoric skill by having roleplay. They were also introduced to the traditional costume and songs from those places. Moreover, students were challenged to connect their current learning of means of transportation to find out which one is the best transportation mode to visit those faraway places.
Along with the enthusiasm showed throughout the learning, the studets surely reflected their thematic knowledge and make a connection to the currect learning of Warna Warni Indonesia. Therefore, since their earliest years and in the simplest way, the series of activities can hopefully raise up their sense of belonging to tour beloved nation, Indonesia. ***
