EYP and Secondary Collaborative Learning: Colourful Nutritious and Easy to Make Snacks for Little Hands

EYP students joined an engaging and joyful activity with Secondary students to learn about healthy food. The session began with lively discussions using colourful pictures, gestures, and movements that helped the young learners understand the importance of good nutrition. EYP students showed remarkable adaptability as they learned from a new source — their older peers — and could connect this new knowledge with what they already knew about fruits and vegetables.

EYP students’ excitement grew even more when they had the chance to make their own fruit salad. With bright eyes and cheerful laughter, they eagerly practised cutting the fruits, putting them carefully into their containers, and admiring the colourful results. Interestingly, some children who usually showed little interest in eating fruits and vegetables were now curious and willing to try them. The best part came when they enjoyed tasting the salad together — a delicious reward that made them even more enthusiastic about eating healthy food. The collaboration created a joyful learning moment where curiosity, confidence, and healthy habits came together naturally.
