Early Year Program: Christmas Assembly

At the beginning of the year, all EYP students, from Toddler to EY2, gathered in the Time Square for a special Christmas Assembly. The hall was filled with excitement as the MC explained what Christmas was, who celebrated it, and how it was usually enjoyed by families around the world. Through simple stories and clear examples, the children learned that Christmas was a meaningful time for many people, marked by love, sharing, and gratitude. This gentle introduction helped everyone understand why the day was special for friends who celebrated it.

Students who followed the Christian faith were then invited to come forward and sing a song. They stood proudly and sang with confidence while their classmates listened with care and respect. The performance was joyful and meaningful, as it allowed the children to express their identity in a safe and supportive space.

At the end of the assembly, students who did not celebrate Christmas shared warm wishes by saying “Merry Christmas” to their friends. In this moment, the children experienced Indonesia’s rich diversity in a real and positive way. They learned that respecting different beliefs helped build kindness, harmony, and a strong sense of community.
