Early Year 2 – Mathematics: Teddy Bear Bedroom Design Project

Our Early Years 2 mathematicians turned interior designers for an exciting 2D shape project!

Working in small teams, the children decorated a cozy bedroom for Teddy Bear using classroom toys to represent circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, and ovals. The young designers then presented their creations to the class, pointing out the shapes they used and explaining why each item was chosen.

By linking geometric shapes to real-world objects and presenting their choices, EY2 boosted their mathematical vocabulary, reasoning, teamwork, and creative problem-solving!
