Early Year 2 – Arts: Under the Rain

Today, EY2 students continued their learning about the seasons, focusing on the rainy season. Previously, they listened to a story titled Jas Hujan Merah, which was about a child who wanted to wear a raincoat during the rain. In this activity, the students had the chance to create their own raincoats.

The students practiced their origami skills by folding paper to make a raincoat shape. This activity helped develop their fine motor skills, as they followed step-by-step instructions, improving their hand-eye coordination and focus. After folding the paper, they added a personal touch by sticking a photo of themselves on the raincoat.

To complete the activity, they drew and colored raindrops using crayons, which enhanced their creativity and artistic expression. The coloring activity also supports their ability to focus, improve hand control, and distinguish colors. They then attached their folded raincoats to create a fun scene of themselves standing in the rain.

The children were excited and enthusiastic throughout the activity, proudly showing off their creations. This hands-on project not only helped them learn about the rainy season but also strengthened their arts and crafts skills, making it a fun and educational experience.
