Early Year 2 – Arts: Octopus Fun

Early Year 2 – Arts: Octopus Fun

Today, EY2 students continued learning about octopuses with a fun and creative craft activity. They made octopuses using paper cups, which they painted in their favourite colours. After the paint dried, the children carefully cut the bottom of the cup into 8 tentacles, just like an octopus!

To make the tentacles even more exciting, they added beads in colourful patterns, extending the tentacles and adding extra flair. Each child also decorated their octopus with eyes, a mouth, and spots, giving their creature a unique look.

This hands-on activity helped the students in many ways. It allowed them to be creative by choosing different colours and decorations for their octopuses. The craft also helped them practice important skills like cutting and adding beads. At the same time, they learned more about octopuses and connected their art project to what they were studying in science.

Overall, this fun craft was not only a great way to learn about octopuses, but also a chance for the children to practice important skills like problem-solving, coordination, and self-expression.
