Early Year 1 – Science: Absorbent and Non-Absorbent Materials
The EY1 students explored an exciting science experiment to learn how water interacts with different materials. They discovered the difference between materials that absorb water and those that do not absorb water. Using various objects, students observed how each material reacted when placed in water and shared their findings with their peers.
This activity helped students develop their observation skills and understand cause-and-effect relationships, such as why some materials become wet while others remain dry. It also encouraged curiosity and inquiry, allowing them to explore and think critically about their observations.
The knowledge gained from this experiment supports students in understanding how materials function, which can be useful in making decisions in everyday situations. It also builds their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Overall, this activity not only made learning fun and engaging but also gave students practical knowledge and a foundation for future scientific exploration.
