Early Year 1 – Learning Project: Dazzling Desert (Day 2)

Today, EY1 students continued their Dazzling Desert project with the “Ask Tons of Questions” and “Understand the Process and Problem” phases. Building on yesterday’s “Look, Listen, Learn” activities, students deepened their exploration of desert environments.

In an exciting “Desert Animal Dance Freeze” game, students danced like their favorite desert animals before freezing in animal poses when the music stopped. The class also watched videos about how desert animals and plants survive in extreme conditions.

A key focus of the day was the creation of a “Question Board,” where students posted their questions about the desert, such as “What do desert animals need to live?” and “Why do cacti grow in the desert?” This interactive activity encouraged curiosity and critical thinking, allowing students to explore the desert ecosystem further. They’ll use their questions to guide their research and develop ideas for their upcoming diorama project. ***
