Early Year 1 – Exit Point: Our Journey as Animal Rescuers
EY1 students concluded their learning journey on the topic Animal Rescuers with an exciting Exit Point activity. To celebrate and showcase all the knowledge they had gained, the students came to school dressed in desert or arctic outfits, ready to embark on an imaginative adventure together.
During the activity, the classroom was transformed into different environments, allowing the students to explore and experience each habitat. In the desert zone, they felt the warmth of the sun and discovered how animals like camels, meerkat, snake and lizards survive in hot and dry conditions. Then, as they moved to the arctic zone, they experienced the chill of the cold weather and learned about animals such as polar bears and penguins that thrive in freezing temperatures.
This experience helped the students deepen their understanding of animal habitats and how animals adapt to survive in different climates. As young animal rescuers, they learned ways to protect animals and their environments by keeping habitats clean, showing kindness to animals, and taking small but meaningful actions like saving water, reducing waste, and respecting nature. It was a fun and engaging way to wrap up their learning, connecting knowledge with creativity, imagination, and a growing sense of responsibility toward nature and all living creatures. ***
