Early Year 1 – Entry Point: Going Places
To kick off the new theme, “Going Places,” EY1 students participated in a fun and engaging roleplay activity where they imagined themselves going to school by car. They had to get on the car made of painted used boxes and drove to school. They also had to pay attention on the traffic signs that they saw along the way. Students learned the meanings of red, yellow, and green lights, and practiced stopping, slowing down, and going.
Through this activity, students learned essential skills for both the classroom and daily life. They not only learned about road safety and the importance of traffic rules, but also practiced turn-taking, listening, and following directions. Besides, this Entry Point activity played an important role as an exciting trigger for learning throughout the theme. By connecting to a familiar daily routine, it sparked curiosity about transportation, road safety, and the world around them, setting a strong foundation for meaningful exploration in the weeks ahead. ***
