Early Year 1 – Entry Point: Blast Off
To begin Term 4, EY1 students were introduced to their new theme, Blast Off, through an engaging and imaginative entry point activity. They were surprised by a “news report” about a loud explosion that happened at school the previous night. Filled with curiosity, the children went on a mission to investigate. In the playground, they discovered pieces of a crashed spaceship and met some friendly aliens. Their space-themed adventure continued as they helped the aliens learn about Earth, starting with their school environment.
This activity sparked wonder and excitement, encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and work together. It also supported language development, empathy, and creativity—building essential skills for young learners through meaningful, play-based experiences. ***
