Costume Making for EY2 Performance: The Tiny Seed Story
Students in EY2 engaged in a meaningful creative expression activity as they prepared costumes for their performance inspired by the story The Tiny Seed. Using a variety of materials such as flannel fabric, EVA sponge, UHU glue, and double tape, they explored how different elements can be combined to represent characters and settings from the story.
Each student created a costume based on their role in the story. Some became tiny seeds, while others represented parts of plants, and some took on roles as elements of the environment. As they worked, they followed simple steps to cut basic outlines and assemble the pieces, practicing fine motor skills while carefully attaching each part.
Throughout the process, students made connections between the story and their creations, thinking about how a tiny seed grows, moves, and becomes part of its surroundings. By the end of the activity, students not only created meaningful costume pieces but also demonstrated their ability to apply their understanding, collaborate with peers, and confidently express their ideas in preparation for their performance.
