Baby Class – Sensory Activity: Worms in the Mud
The Baby Class students took part in a fun and educational outdoor activity where they explored pretend “worms” made from noodles dipped in brown flour. This hands-on sensory play was held in the school’s playground as part of their learning theme on minibeasts.
This activity was designed to help children understand the world of minibeasts in a safe and imaginative way. It allowed them to engage their senses while learning through play. The playful, messy experience also developed their language skill in expressing their feeling touching the noodle-worm.
Through this sensory exploration, the children developed various important skills. The activity enhanced their tactile sensitivity, encouraged curiosity, and promoted fine motor development as they picked up, stretched, and stirred the noodle worms. It also supported social skills, as they interacted with peers and learned to share space and materials. ***
