Toddler students had a fun and educational day with a dinosaur-themed activity. First, the teachers introduced the concept of how dinosaurs ate different types of food — some were plant-eaters while others, like the mighty T. Rex, were meat-eaters. This sparked curiosity and helped children understand that eating the right kinds of food is essential for growth and health, just like it was for dinosaurs!
We also connected the lesson to their real-life experience by reminding them about our healthy eating day last Wednesday, when some of them brought fruits to school. This connection reinforced the importance of making nutritious food choices every day to grow stronger and healthier.
For the hands-on part, students practiced scooping macaroni into their lunch boxes using spoons. This fun activity wasn’t just about play — it helped develop important fine motor skills like hand-eye coordination, concentration, and control. Afterward, students practiced responsibility and independence by cleaning their dirty plates and lining up to wash their hands, promoting self-care and hygiene habits.
Through this exciting and meaningful experience, students not only expanded their knowledge about dinosaurs and healthy eating, but also strengthened life skills like following instructions, working independently, and taking care of their own belongings. It was a day full of learning, laughter, and growth! ***
