Hello Monday!
Today, P6 students started the second day of orientation by having some activities related to Monday’s subjects (Pendidikan Pancasila, IPC, and English).
It was started by recalling previous material in Semester 1 for Pendidikan Pancasila through some questions and sharing about students’ resolution for 2025. After that, students were invited to get to know about new topic “Tolerance”. They watched 2 videos about tolerance toward different religion and physical conditions to know how the feeling of being different and how to deal with it.
Then, the students were invited to know more about figurative language in English. Students were asked to work in a group to make an example of figurative language then demonstrate it in front of the class. Meanwhile, the other group would try to guess the sentences and the name of figurative language.
Last but not least, students were introduced with the topic they are going to learn in Term 3. They got a sneak peek of the theme which is ‘What Price Progress?’. They briefly discussed how technology has changed the world and the development of inventions. Students were invited to the discussion and asked to stick their idea about several issues like the impact of technology in everyday life.
By reviewing, recalling and introducing some learning materials, students got chance to develop their focus. The activity also served the students with prior knowledge and helped them get ready with further discussion or challenge in the next meetings.
Starting the first two meetings with those kinds of activities is not only to let them be ready and get used to school life but it also gives big pictures of things to do to step into routines, especially after a long break. They are exposed with the importance of being well prepared to face everything, exposing EFS to face reality.
