Primary 6 – Global Perspective: Find the Meaning

Continuing exploration within the topic of Going Global, students try to discover some keywords. In this activity, the students worked together in small groups and used dictionaries to find the meanings of important global terms such as globalisation, global citizen, fair trade, barter, export, and import. While searching for the definitions, they discussed the meaning and recorded in the paper provided. This process helped them understand that each term has a connection to how the world works today. They also practiced reading carefully, comparing meanings, and explaining new vocabulary to their friends.

Through this teamwork, students developed their communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills while building stronger vocabulary and awareness of global topic. This learning made the students realize that these terms are not just words in a book, but ideas that affect their lives. They began to connect information on how countries depend on one another through trade.
