After long holidays that lasted for more than three weeks, P5 students are ready to set in their new journey in Semester 2. They opened the year by having celebratory vibes from what they have done in the last semester and what the upcoming exciting learning activities might offer. On Friday, the first day of school, they had a series of fun activities to uplift their eagerness in getting involved at school.
To begin with, Ms Wening led the students to play a game named ‘Geopardy’. This game required students’ broad general knowledge and critical thinking related to Maths. The students were divided into groups and those who got the most score won. The second activity was making 2025 target comprising their plans in 2025, their dreams, learning strategies and other things to help them committed to be better individuals. The next activity was special because it involved Bahasa Jawa. Students were instructed to write down what teacher said. For the last activity, students were challenged to promote the lessons of their choices by providing reasons why they picked them.
Students gained a lot of benefits through these activities. Not only that they had fun, but they also had a chance to broaden their knowledge and perspective through ‘Geopardy’ game. They were also expected to dream big by taking small actions in making it come true in writing their 2025 target, not to mention that they could also get more vocabulary either in Bahasa Jawa, Indonesia or English as well as hone their reasoning to promote the lessons of their favourite.
Through this series of activities, P5 students were provided opportunities to uplift their critical thinking, broaden their points of view and be responsible to their commitments. In the end, they are allowed to think of what their needs are, overcome their needs through small steps that would eventually lead to a big impact in their lives.
