Primary 3 – Science: Friction and Gravity

In Science, P3 students learned about friction and gravity. They learned that force can be measured with a tool named forcemeter. They also learned that friction is a force created when a surface moves against another surface. Rough surfaces create more friction and more friction creates more force to move the objects.

Students had a chance to experiment using a force meter to measure how much force is needed to move an object on different surfaces. The surfaces are a towel and sandpaper which represent rough surfaces, and aluminium foil which represent smooth surfaces. They observed which surface required the force to pull the object. Students looked excited doing this experiment. ***
