Primary 3 – Science: Earth, the Sun and the Moon

During Science, the students learned about the Earth, the Moon and the Sun. They particularly learned about the shape of the earth, the Moon and the Sun. During the discussion, they found out that the Earth, the Moon and the Sun are spherical in shape. This mean that they look like a ball. Further, they learned that a globe is the physical model of the earth from which they can find different countries and, seas and oceans.

On a discussion, teacher brought a globe and showed it to the students. Teacher explained that in the globe they can see different countries, oceans and seas. Teacher asked the students to find out certain countries in the world on the globe. Teacher also asked them to point out the country they want to visit. The students were so excited about it and was so eager to find out more cities, countries, ocean and seas.

Bringing the globe to the class does not only boost the students’ interest in learning about the Earth but also gives them the real image of the Earth shape. Using this tool helps the students in understanding the topic even better because they see and experience a great learning by having a chance to find out some countries on the globe.

It is expected that the students are able to use the basic knowledge and experience to renew and enrich their knowledge about the Earth and other object in space. Further, by knowing this fact they will be able to use their knowledge to deal with their daily life. ***
