Having fun, finding a creative way to solve problems, making stronger bonds with friends, and improving communication skills were there during P3 Boundless Mathematics Day 3. P3 students were excited to join the “Treasure Hunt” game. They had to explore the school building, find the pit stops, and do the challenges. Students used creative ways to solve problems and find a solutions. In-pit stop length, students were given 20cm string, then they had to find 30cm string in the envelope. Students observed the strings they got and estimated by using their fingers.
In-pit stop mass, students observed, compared, and estimated the weight of some objects by taking and holding the objects one by one to compare with 150g of a box of glue. In-pit stop capacity, students observed and estimated the capacity of water in various types of bottles. They compared the capacity with 100ml water in the other bottles. In pit stop problem-solving, students worked out the story word problem. They read and tried to understand the story to find the problem. Next, students discussed the problem with their partner to find the most creative and best solution. After all, they enjoyed it and showed great teamwork. Well done P3! ***
