Learning the IPC Theme “How are you?”, P2 students had a chance to observe and explore the first aid kit in a small group. They identified bandage, ointment and so on. The purpose of this activity is to know about the first aid kit, which is beneficial for minor injury.
The activity began by introducing the name of things and showing the real objects inside the first aid kit. The students identified and took notes on each object in the first aid kit. Furthermore, they also had a chance to observe the real objects closely in a small group.
Through note-taking and observation, the students were encouraged to be familiar with the things that can help them in an emergency situation. After having the activities, students can gain benefit by using the first aid kit while needed with adults’ supervision.
Observing the first aid kit with friends in a group is designed to stimulate students’ interest and awareness in health. It is expected to help students to be more aware and care for themselves and others. At the end, students will be able to put the knowledge into practice and even extend it to everyday life practices.
