Nursery – English: Recognising letters

Nursery students have been actively exploring and observing minibeasts. They have learned not only about the characteristics of these tiny creatures but also about their habitats, and other interesting facts. This time, the students focused on minibeasts that enjoy feeding on nectar from flowers. As part of a fun activity, they helped the minibeasts “fly” to the correct flowers by matching the letters written on each minibeast to the corresponding flowers.

Through this activity, students enhanced their letter recognition skills while reinforcing their understanding of the natural world. They also practiced critical thinking and gross motor skills as they matched each minibeast with the right flower.

The activity nurtured their sense of empathy towards living creatures, helping them understand the importance of caring for nature. Overall, this hands-on experience not only supported developmental skills but also inspired a deeper appreciation for the environment and the tiny wonders within it. ***
