The EY2 Robot Exhibition marked the joyful finale of the children’s a week learning project. Each EY2 child sat at their own small table with their handmade robot displayed proudly in front. When the Primary 4 visitors entered the room, the younger children welcomed them with bright smiles, ready to share the stories behind their creations. One by one, the P4 students approached each table, and the EY2 presenters began explaining the name of their robot, its special function, the people it could help, and the materials they had carefully chosen to build each part.
What made the exhibition especially memorable was the confidence shown by every child — even those who are normally quiet found their voice. They spoke in clear, simple English, using vocabulary they had learned throughout the project. After listening to each presentation, the P4 visitors gently placed a sticker on the robot’s name card as a sign of appreciation. This small gesture created a warm, supportive atmosphere, helping the EY2 children feel proud of their hard work and brave in sharing their ideas.
This collaborative moment offered meaningful benefits for both groups. The EY2 children gained valuable experience in speaking, explaining, and taking ownership of their learning, while the P4 students practised empathy, patience, and respect for younger learners. Experiences like this remind us that learning grows richer when children teach and encourage one another — a beautiful foundation for future collaborative projects.
