Engaging in group activities, such as creating models from recycled materials, offers numerous benefits for kindergarten children. Recently, EY2 students worked together to craft a model post office as a pre-activity for their upcoming visit to a real post office. This hands-on project fostered teamwork, teaching them to collaborate, share tasks, and support each other.
As they cut, glued, and assembled their model, the children developed fine motor skills and practiced coordination. Their communication skills also improved as they shared ideas and expressed their thoughts throughout the project. Completing the craft gave them a boost in confidence and instilled a sense of pride in their collective achievement.
This engaging activity made learning fun, enriched their understanding of community roles, and prepared them for their field trip—all while nurturing essential skills like cooperation, creativity, and self-expression. ***
