Early Year 1 – Sports: Let’s Move the Body!

Students in EY1 participated in a sports lesson that focused on movement activities in the playground. During this session, they played a simple game of moving a ball through an obstacle course. The students were tasked with taking the ball and moving it to the other side by running zig-zag through cones, skipping over poles, and jumping from spot to spot.

The students actively engaged in the activity, demonstrating enthusiasm and determination as they navigated the challenges. They showed growing confidence with each attempt, adjusting their movements to complete the course successfully. Their focus and cooperation with peers created a supportive and energetic atmosphere.

This activity helped the students develop important gross motor skills like jumping, skipping, and running while also improving their coordination and balance. Consistently engaging in such activities can help increase their physical strength, stamina, and overall energy levels. It also supports their brain development, which can enhance memory and focus, making it easier for them to learn and participate in other lessons. ***
