Early Year 1 – Science: Animal Habitat Exhibition

EY1 students were very excited to bring their Arctic and desert dioramas, which they had proudly created at home with their parents, to school. Each diorama reflected the students’ understanding of the environments and the animals that live there, showcasing creativity, effort, and teamwork between children and parents.

During the activity, the students took turns presenting their dioramas to their classmates, explaining the different features of their habitats and the animals they included. They spoke confidently about how each animal survives in its environment, demonstrating what they had learned throughout the Animal Rescuers unit.

To extend their learning, the EY1 students organized a simple exhibition and invited the Nursery classes to view their dioramas. They proudly presented their work, explaining the features of the Arctic and desert habitats and the animals that live in each environment. This meaningful sharing experience deepened their understanding of animals and habitats, enhanced their communication skills, and inspired the younger learners to develop curiosity, creativity, and care for animals and nature. ***
