Our Early Year 1 students took learning outdoors by exploring the road in front of the school. They put road safety into practice—learning to stop, look, listen, and cross safely with their teachers and classmates while observing passing vehicles and road signs.
Back in the classroom, the lesson seamlessly blended language and math:
- Sorting & Classification: Children grouped toy cars by color, size, and features, explaining their logic to build flexible mathematical thinking.
- Imaginative Traffic Play: Using toy cars, signs, and police figures, they role-played drivers, pedestrians, and officers to reinforce safety concepts.
By combining real-world exploration, hands-on math, and creative play, the children developed essential safety skills alongside critical communication and problem-solving abilities.
