EY1 students enthusiastically joined the activity in Arts lesson to make the clothesline. The were given a series of task in order to be able to create their own clothesline. First, students have to colour the t-shirt and shorts pictures with the colour pencil and cut them neatly. Next, the had to create the grass and sky by crayoning and added the sun on top. After that, students made the clothesline by drawing a line between two long rectangle paper which were pasted on the left and right side. The last step, they had to paste the t-shirt and shorts on it.
Cutting, coloring, and pasting activities are incredibly important for kindergarten students as they help develop key motor and cognitive skills. Using scissors to cut shapes improves hand-eye coordination and strengthens the small muscles in their hands, preparing them for writing and other tasks that require fine motor control. Coloring not only allows students to express their creativity, but it also helps them practice focus and control over their movements. Pasting teaches students about spatial awareness and planning as they figure out where to place their pieces. These activities also encourage problem-solving and enhance attention to detail.
Hopefully, by making this clothesline artwork students getting to know about the importance of water for the daily needs, especially for washing the clothes as they have learned a lot about the water. They also learned that the presence of sun is significant to help them dry their clothes.
