FIS Secondary Level recently held an engaging day 2 Open House, welcoming prospective parents and showcasing the breadth and depth of student learning process. The session aimed to provide a comprehensive look at the school’s programs, emphasising the meaningful learning activities and impactful collaboration that defines the Secondary experience. The lively and active atmosphere made the event a resounding success for all attendees.
A key element of the afternoon was the exceptional student showcases. Eileen and Evelyn presented their impressive collaborative work in S1 and S3 Bahasa Indonesia, demonstrating integration of learning descriptive text. Further highlighting practical, real-world learning, Jeanette and Sherrly shared their Outdoor Learning Program (OLP) activities from Kampus Kopi in Banyuanyar, Boyolali, illustrating how the curriculum extends beyond the classroom walls. Significantly, Jeanette also represented students from non-FIS backgrounds, ensuring parents from other schools felt acknowledged and informed.
The session culminated in an enthusiastic school tour guided by student escorts: Vanya, Rizka and Gisela. Parents were noticeably excited to explore the vibrant Secondary school environment. They seized the opportunity to engage the escorts directly, asking questions about the daily learning routines and student life. The escorts capably shared their experiences, offering authentic, transparent perspectives that resonated deeply with the prospective families.
Overall, the Open House was an exceptionally active and meaningful event for both the prospective parents and the student body. It not only provided a clear, impactful view of the school’s diverse academic process and learning environment but also offered a valuable platform for students to implement and demonstrate their presentation, leadership and communication skills, affirming the school’s commitment to holistic student development.
