Secondary 2 – Physics: Speed Experiment

Secondary students recently engaged in a hands-on science experiment to measure the speed of a moving object using a basketball, stopwatch and measuring tape. The experiment involved rolling the basketball over a marked distance while timing it with a stopwatch.

To ensure accuracy, the students conducted the experiment three times, recording the time for each trial. By calculating the average speed of the basketball, they were able to apply theoretical physics concepts in a practical setting. This activity not only reinforced their understanding of motion and speed but also emphasised the importance of precision and repetition in scientific experiments.***
