Secondary 2 – Maths: Highest Common Factors and Lowest Common Multiple

In Mathematics class, Secondary 2 students learned about the Highest Common Factor (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiple (LCM). They reviewed what they know about factors, multiples and prime numbers to make sure they are able to understand these concepts well. The teacher conducted a fun game to help them remember the information.

In the game, students used a number chart from 1-100 and a spin the wheel with questions about factors, multiples or prime numbers, for examples: list all prime numbers from 30 to 50; what is the factors of 48 and list three numbers multiples of 12 and 24.

When a keyword came up on the wheel, students had to pick the right number. If they got it right, they stayed in the game and faced new opponents. This made learning more engaging and helped students practice quick thinking. Through this activity, students improved their understanding of HCF and LCM by reflecting on basic math concepts. ***
