Primary 6 – Mathematics: Angles in a Triangle
In their Mathematics class, P6 students explored the concept of missing angles in a triangle. The main activity for the day was a hands-on experiment designed to prove that the sum of a triangle’s internal angles is always 180 degrees. To begin, the students drew a triangle on special spectrum paper, labeled its three angles, and carefully cut them out. Next, they drew a straight line to represent a 180-degree angle and arranged the triangle’s three angles along the line, demonstrating how the angles fit perfectly together to form a straight line.
For the concluding activity, students summarized their findings and applied what they learned by solving problems involving missing angles in triangles. This experiment provided a clear, visual understanding of the 180-degree rule, helping students solidify their comprehension of the concept in a fun and interactive way. ***
