Primary 6: I Care Learning Celebration ” Zero-waste Cooking Master”
More than 50% of waste in Indonesia comes from leftover food and compulsive buying. It ended up in the trash can because people could not estimate their needs. The amount of food waste per year in Indonesia could cover 11% of food supplies for the total population.
During the I Care program, P6 students learned about food waste issues and their danger to the environment. Not only found out the food waste fact from the article, but they also did actual actions by observing the leftover food in their house. Students discussed the unused ingredients left in their refrigerator with their group and shared ideas to cook a menu from the ingredients.
On Tuesday, 28 March 2023, students had Zero-waste Cooking Master as a learning celebration of their I Care program. Students prepared the tools and ingredients well. The activity taught students how to prepare food and work in a team efficiently. ***
