Primary 5 – Maths : Lines and 3D Shapes

25 October 2022,

In term 2, P5 students learned about lines and 3D shapes. Students learned how to identify and draw perpendicular lines and parallel bars and visualize the 3D shapes from nets. They had a mini-project to sharpen their skills and knowledge. It started by individually making a house sketch involving the perpendicular and parallel lines concept. Then, students worked in a group to discuss which drawing and 3D shapes they would use. They interpreted the sketch into a mockup. As the learning confirmation, they presented their work by showing the parallel and perpendicular lines, identifying the names of the 3D shapes, and also showing the number and shape(s) of the faces.

From this activity, they not only learned the concept of lines and 3D shapes but, at the same time, students think structurally and creatively. That’s because when making a mockup in 3D, they learned to understand and visualize their ideas into something more tangible. ***
